US Canteen Cup, 1944

U.S. military-issue stainless steel canteen cup, from World War II, dated 1944. These cups were paired with M1910 or M1942 canteens. They were made for durability and efficiency, fitting snugly with canteens inside the pouch on the web belt or cartridge belt. Even thought the handle is rusty, it’s clean and quite ready for coffee. No, not fricking ice tea, or juice dammit. Coffee. Joe, the straight black liquid of the gods. Don’t even buy this and put in Crystal Light. I don’t want to catch you at a reenactment or living history event putting anything but coffee in this. Well, ok, maybe whiskey, but not too often.
